If four-year or two-year degree programs don’t feel like they fit in with your life, there are still ways to gain new skills and open up new pathways for yourself.

Take part in a documentary focused on depicting a wide range of short-term learning programs that are helping people gain new skills to advance in their careers—while still allowing them to keep up with their day-to-day life responsibilities.

You’ll meet and interview inspiring role models and mentors whose short-term postsecondary credentials were pivotal to their success in their lives and careers. You’ll also have the chance to speak with folks working to increase access to flexible education opportunities—and share your story, too.

Because going to school doesn’t mean you have to put your life on hold—there are pathways available that can meet you where you are.

We’re looking for you if:

  • You are considering or currently enrolled in a flexible, short-term postsecondary program

  • You are looking to change your career, advance in your career, or just continue learning

  • You’re interested in meeting inspiring people who have used short-term learning programs to level up and explore new possibilities for their lives

What is this for?

You’ll be applying to be part of Roadtrip Nation’s public television series about how people find their path in life.  And we want to highlight you and share your story too.

This season, we’re shining a light on how short-term postsecondary programs are helping all learners realize their vision for their career and future.

But this is also so much more than a TV show—this is an opportunity for you to get out there, get exposure to new paths and possibilities, and talk to people whose stories can change your life.

If selected, you’ll get a generous paid stipend to cover personal expenses and needs as a result of participating, and we’ll work with you to make this fit into your life.

We’ll be filming in May 2025, and we’ll keep any travel and time away from home or school short. We’ll also work together to schedule around you and provide support for what you need to make this opportunity work.

Your story is important, and we want to make sure you have the support you need to meet financial obligations and life responsibilities while participating.

Additional Information:

  • We’ll be filming in May 2025, and we’ll work with you to schedule around your class schedule, life, and commitments during that time

  • All travel expenses—plus a daily stipend for personal expenses—are paid for by Roadtrip Nation. We’ll work with you to make sure the stipend covers what you need to be able to participate

  • The experience will be filmed, and you’ll be asked to share your thoughts and feelings on-camera throughout the journey. The resulting documentary may be shown on public television, and/or used in Roadtrip Nation’s educational tools

  • If selected, you’ll help plan the experience around your interests and career aspirations—so you’ll need to work with Roadtrip Nation to research and book interviews with the career role models you’d like to speak with

  • After filming is over, we’ll provide you with six months of free personalized career coaching and support from InsideTrack to help you pursue your life, education, and career goals
