Are you interested in music, visual arts, dance, theater, or any other form of art? Wondering how to stay creative… even if you don’t pursue art as your career?

Apply to be a part of a life-changing experience that will help connect you to new ideas and opportunities.

Apply by December 21, 2025

Creativity is an important part of all our lives—but how do you stay creative in life, whether you’re pursuing an arts-related path or not? If this question has been on your mind, then we want to hear from you!

Next year, Roadtrip Nation is sending three young people out to meet inspiring leaders across a wide range of careers—arts-related and not!—whose paths were made possible because of their arts experiences.

Fueled by the Wallace Foundation, you’ll get to travel the country in our big green RV, see amazing arts programming that has built thriving communities, build connections with incredible mentors, and learn how these skills can translate to all kinds of fields and spaces.

If you’ve ever wondered:

  • Can I build a creative life in the arts? What about if I don’t pursue an arts-related career?

  • How can my creativity positively impact broader communities?

  • Is it even possible to build a successful and sustainable career in the arts?

…then this is the opportunity for you!

Apply now and get ready for the adventure of a lifetime—and help us show how vital and important the arts are for all of us.

Who We’re Looking for:

  • You are 18+ years old

  • You have engaged with arts learning or creative programs (in visual arts, music, dance, theater, literary arts, digital arts and media, or cultural arts) in some way in your local community or at school

    • That could look like: being in an arts program, having been involved in arts experiences in some way at some point, or having an interest and wanting to find a way to lead a creative life.

    • Note: You don’t have to be currently enrolled in a program!

  • You’re excited to explore a lot of different career paths.

  • You are at the beginning of your career journey, and are curious to explore how your creative experiences can influence your life and career possibilities.

What is this for?

You’ll be applying to be part of Roadtrip Nation’s public television series about how people find their paths in life—and we want to highlight you and share your story, too!

As you travel the country in our big green RV, you’ll meet people who’ve taken all sorts of different paths to get to all kinds of different places. You’ll meet subject matter experts and leaders who’ve been right where you are. The one thing they all have in common? All of their paths have been deeply impacted by their creative experiences and participation in the arts, and they want to help you see what’s possible for your future!

Still, this is so much more than a TV show—it’s an opportunity for you to get out there, get exposure to new paths and possibilities, and talk to people whose stories can change your life.

Additional Information:

  • We’ll be filming in Spring 2026, and we’ll work with you to schedule around your life commitments during that time.

  • All travel expenses—plus a daily stipend for personal expenses—are paid for by Roadtrip Nation.

  • You’ll be asked to share your thoughts and feelings on-camera throughout the journey. The resulting documentary may be shown on public television, and/or used in Roadtrip Nation’s educational tools.

  • If selected, you’ll help plan the experience around your interests and career aspirations—so you’ll need to work with Roadtrip Nation to research and book interviews with the career role models you’d like to speak with.

  • After filming is over, we’ll provide you with six months of free personalized career coaching and support from InsideTrack to help you pursue your life, education, and career goals.
