How do you make sure that college will help you realize your vision for your future—and be within reach?
If you’re a prospective or current student, come hit the road with us to find out!

College is still the best way to make sure you have a strong foundation for your future. But it can feel overwhelming to navigate such a big choice. How do you find a great, affordable option that will work for you?

And once you’re in college, what can help you thrive, build skills, and start exploring your future path beyond school?

On this road trip, we’re sending out three young people to travel the country and get advice and insights from people who were once in your shoes, navigating these decisions—and who have been able to do amazing things in their lives and careers because of their college experiences.

In short, we’re going to go discover what it looks like when schools deliver on the promise of education—so that building a better life is possible for everyone—and so, right now, you can make the best decisions for your future!

We’re looking for you if…

  • You’re about to make decisions about college, or trying to figure out if you should pursue college at all (whether that’s a four-year program, community college, or other kinds of credentials):

    • You’ll meet people whose paths were made possible by their education, and learn what’s most important to consider as you make a decision, so that you come away from this experience more confident about what’s right for you and with knowledge about the questions you should be asking.

  • You’re a student currently enrolled in any kind of postsecondary program:

    • You’ll hear what’s most important to focus on during school—and learn what kinds of supports, resources, and opportunities can create huge impacts for you after graduation, to arm you with experiences, knowledge, and skills that will help you take your first career steps.

This is an experiential learning experience as part of Roadtrip Nation’s documentary series all about how people figure out their paths in life. And whether you’re a current student or a prospective one, through the process of traveling, getting out of your normal routine, carving out time and space to explore, and sitting down for conversations about the value of college, you’ll gain confidence to make decisions for your future and information to make the most of your college experience, and gain skills that will help you pursue your vision for yourself. (Plus, this experience is free, and you’ll get a stipend for personal expenses.)

Fueled by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Strada Education Foundation, this is an experience you’ll never forget. So apply now and get ready for the next phase of your future!

What is this for?

You’ll be applying to be part of Roadtrip Nation’s public television series about how people find their paths in life. And we want to highlight you and share your story too.

You’ll meet experts and leaders who’ve been right where you are, and get inspired by their stories. As you travel the country in our big green RV, you’ll meet people whose paths were made possible by college programs that deliver on the promise of education by offering programs that are affordable, support students’ success during school, and help bridge the transition to careers and paths after graduation.

Still, this is so much more than a TV show—it’s an opportunity for you to get out there, get exposure to new paths and possibilities, and talk to people whose stories can change your life.

Additional Information:

  • Additional Information:

    • We’ll be filming in July/August, and we’ll work with you to schedule around your life commitments during that time.

    • All travel expenses—plus a daily stipend for personal expenses—are paid for by Roadtrip Nation. We’ll work with you to make sure the stipend covers what you need to be able to participate.

    • The experience will be filmed, and you’ll be asked to share your thoughts and feelings on-camera throughout the journey. The resulting documentary may be shown on public television, and/or used in Roadtrip Nation’s educational tools.

    • If selected, you’ll help plan the experience around your interests and career aspirations—so you’ll need to work with Roadtrip Nation to research and book interviews with the career role models you’d like to speak with.

    • After filming is over, we’ll provide you with six months of free personalized career coaching and support from InsideTrack to help you pursue your life, education, and career goals.
